Deutscher Spiele Preise
German Game Prize
Article by Piet Notebaert
(Piet.Notebaert@ping.be).
The Deutscher Spiele Preise has existed since 1990.
The results are announced in October at the Essen Spiel
game festival.
The prize is awarded by the magazine Die Pöppel-Revue.
Every subscriber sends in a card with their personal Top 3.
The German radio stations also submit their lists.
The games club in Vienna (with 200 members) provides a "Bestenliste".
The 600 gamers and about 150 teams in the German board game championships
also submit a "bestenliste".
41 chosen professionals send in their lists.
About 500 shops in Germany, Switzerland and Austria also vote.
The largest club in Belgium send in their favourite games.
And about 25 journalists give their comments.
All this results in a trophy: "Die Deutcher Spiele Preis 19xx".
